I often see and admire woman in my home city who clearly have a defined "style" expressed through their clothing, hairstyle and shoes...even by the people they are with and this is a common site of likeminded people hanging together through mutual likes and trends.
I have never really focused on a particular style, and I thought this was mainly due to the constraints of being a plus size woman most of my adult life...I would visit the plus size stores and desperately search for something that wasn't fuddy duddy because lets face it, most plus size stores are not "on trend". I would just see things I sort of liked and go with that.
Recently I lost a lot of weight and thought this is my opportunity to really find my style identity and fine tune it now that I didn't have the constraints of weight, but if Im honest, it hasn't happened! I still choose what I wear daily based on what, where, who and how Im feeling, just have a broader size range to choose from! And Im happy with that...I have decided its better to have a variety of styles than just one. As long as Im wearing what makes me feel good...thats all that matters!!!
